Fake tokens and black crypto
Fake tokens copy branding and decimals, changing contract address or name (USD1, USDT SOLANA). They pass shallow UI filters but are not the issuer’s asset.
Black crypto is different: the contract is genuine (e.g. USDT ERC-20), but fund history yields high AML risk. Exchanges and OTC may freeze deposits or request source of funds.
Risk sources: mixers, sanctioned addresses, illegal venues, gambling chains. Not always criminal origin, but compliance systems react until review completes.
Protection: match contract address to the issuer’s official site; do not trust screenshots; for large amounts use tracing and legal advice in your jurisdiction.
